The Sailers of Bellevue, WA, have 8-year old twins, a 10 year old and a much loved Hide-A-Hose (HAH) vacuum. Shelly Sailer is a big fan of HAH having owned a regular central vac in her previous home. “I’m a small person, so hauling the big giant hose, and trying to get it back into the closet was such a hassle that I just didn’t use it. With the old central vac, it would take 10 minutes just dealing with the hose and all that’s involved.” (With traditional central vacs, what’s involved includes connecting and disconnecting, lugging up and down the steps, and wrestling the 30-foot hose back into the closet.) Now with HAH, Shelly spends less time vacuuming since the hose literally puts itself away.
Shelly even wrote about HAH on her Eastside Mother’s of Multiples’ private blog:
“We have a Hide-A-Hose and love it! The company is awesome to work with. Check out: http://www.hideahose.biz/or call 877-851-4491. Their customer service was great! The advantage of this brand is that the hose retracts back in the wall by itself so you aren’t hauling it around and having to recoil it to put it away. After having lived with both systems in different houses, I feel it’s well worth the extra cost. I never even used the old system since it took too long to recoil the hose. And the stair attachment works great on carpeted stairs too. It’s a must-have attachment to buy with your system, as is the hose in the garage for vacuuming the car.”
A Rug Rat for the Rug Rats…
When cleaning, Shelly admits, her most hated chore is vacuuming the steps. “We have a 3-story house with a ton of carpeted stairs. Stairs are easy now because you just have the Rug Rat at the end of the hose and there’s no more lifting of a big machine.” With Shelly’s “must-have” garage hose and Rug Rat – those crushed goldfish in the car just disappear. (The little baked cheddar ones, not real goldfish.) Oops, there’s the doorbell – Shelly has to go – it’s a contractor. As the kids let him in, she tells us, “oh good, he’s taking off his shoes – he’s knows I’m a vacuum fanatic.” (So are we! And proud of it too! Thanks Sailers for sharing your HAH story.)
